CO2 Fire Suppression Systems

MEP Fire - CO2 Fire Suppression

CO2 fire suppression systems are one of the most prominent fire extinguishing systems available on the market today. However, our vast array of CO2 fire extinguishers is designed to remove any type of fire automatically without any human intervention.

To ensure that your safety isn't in danger, we've spent countless hours finding the best fire suppression agents to prevent any flames from re-igniting and ensuring that our system discharges a gas that won't affect a human's health in the long term.

The Most Widely Recognised Extinguishing Agent, Engineered to Size

Because of its ability to quickly displace oxygen and smother an area, Carbon Dioxide (CO2) has long been used as a fire suppressant in a variety of industrial applications. Carbon dioxide fire suppression systems displace the oxygen in an area until combustion is no longer sustainable.

Typically, CO2 systems suppress fire in areas with electronic equipment or machinery. Due to its density, CO2 can also be used to protect machinery in open areas by discharging just the right amount of gas into a protected area and removing the oxygen for enough time before the gas dissipates.

High-pressure cylinders of CO2 gas are stored near the space, and the cylinders are connected via manifolds and released into the protected area via a pipe network. Due to the technology dating back to the 1960's, these fire systems are approved across a large variety of applications, and there is a lot of tried-and-true information available.

In addition to our CO2 fire suppression systems services, we can assist you with:

  • MEP Fire - Why work with us?

Experienced Distributors and Seamless  System Integration

MEP Fire Ltd has a whole host of valuable experience working with gaseous fire suppression systems. We're capable of creating our own designs and running our own hydraulic flow calculations all in house, speeding up our response times and easing the flow of communication. We're proficient when working with a number of design standards, including:

    • BS 5306 – Part 4
    • ISO 6183
    • NFPA 12
    • VdS 2093
    • APSAD R13 – Part 2

Typical applications we can protect with CO2 Gas Fire Suppression Systems include; HV / LV Switch Rooms, Industrial Machinery,  Flammable Liquids and paint spray booths. Due to CO2 being the most dangerous of gaseous extinguishing agents, it's important to carefully select a system integrator and carry out your due diligence to ensure their competence with the product and fire hazard.

Overall, our experience working with CO2 fire suppression systems will help reduce the oxygen level of the fire, ensuring that everyone can remain safe. Our clients' safety is our number one priority, and the more electrically non-conductive fire suppression systems installed in homes and businesses, the more innocent lives are saved every year.
