Condensed Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems

MEP Fire - Condensed Aerosol Systems

The Latest Innovation in Fire Suppression and Fire Extinguishing Technology

Aerosol fire suppression works by interrupting the process of combustion at the molecular level (a chemical chain reaction). It creates a drenching effect comparable to other systems but without the use of liquids or foam, and without increasing pressure in the protected zone.

Condensed Aerosol Systems use a compound of potassium salts and other non-combustible materials. It is non-pressurised. When this method of fire suppression is activated, it creates rapidly expanding and highly condensed aerosol suppressants which is distributed in the target area.

The fire is suppressed without depleting oxygen and all materials used in the process are environmentally friendly - meaning that this aerosol agent will be perfect during the process of evacuation when leaving the dangerous building.

What does a Condensed Aerosol System Look Like?

Condensed Aerosol Systems are available in two types: total flooding systems and local application solutions. For context, we are referring to total flooding systems used as Halon and CO2 system replacements.

A typical system consists of a coincidence detection and alarm systems, usually utilising a conventional extinguishing control panel mounted at the entrance of the enclosure and 1st stage and second stage alarms fitted throughout.

The aerosol system will consist of a number of FirePro units mounted high, directly on the ceiling, or wall-mounted, angled towards the floor. Sequential activators will also be installed between the FirePro units, which are the size of a small junction box.

Why work with MEP Fire?

MEP Fire are an authorised distributor of the FirePro™ Condensed Aerosol fire protection system. All of our operatives are also trained on by FirePro. Without training from the specific manufacturer, there is no way to ensure the system is compliant and installed correctly. Our distributor status also gives us off-the-shelf access to replacement and spare parts.

We are extremely reactive as a company, usually being able to prepare and despatch resources within 2-3 weeks of order placement.

When it comes to fixed fire suppression systems, we have many years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of effective fire suppression. Our staff are correctly equipped and trained in many aspects of installations and has experience working in a variety of different environments.

Take a Virtual Tour of a FirePro Condensed Aerosol System

Using 3D walkthrough image capture technology, it is now possible for you to see a real FirePro fire suppression system installation.

You can see how the system would fit into your enclosure, so you know exactly what to expect when the system extinguishes the fire.

This amazing technology within the aerosol extinguishing system enables the viewer to ‘virtually’ walk through the protected area and see all of the components that make up the system.
