Fire Suppression System Installations

Most of the systems that we install here at MEP Fire, are Gaseous fire suppression systems, which are designed in the UK in accordance with BS EN 15004 parts 1 - 10. We also install a range of other specialist fire suppression systems such as high and low pressure water systems, condensed aerosol systems, kitchen fire suppression and detection tube systems when required.

Due to the lack of training courses in our industry niche, we ensure our engineers have completed the relevant manufacturers training courses along with any necessary health and safety related training to demonstrate competence. All of our lead installation engineers also have a number of years of on-site experience and any up and coming engineers are shadowed by someone until they have supervised time spent. Handling pressurised equipment leaves no margin for error.

Why choose MEP Fire Ltd?

We work for the trade exclusively, so we will be a part of your team - the end client will never even hear about us. We aim to stick to our schedules as tight as possible, so you can expect our engineers to be on site on time and for the work to be completed on schedule.

We are backed by a lot of experience. We know the ins and outs of the equipment we handle, and the limitations that come with each ensuring compliance through out the project.

Transparency is one of our key mantras so you will be kept informed of progress throughout and if we'll give you the heads up using our experience if we feel there's any potential hold ups on the horizon giving our clients a chance to mitigate.

We are also well located to cover the whole of the UK, with engineers located in the North and South of England. We will also travel to mainland Europe for the right project.

What sort of lead times do we work to?

Of course each project varies in complexity and therefore the time frames can fluctuate. Having said that, our engineers are highly experienced and so once we’ve assessed your project we will be able to accurately estimate the time required.

It normally takes about 2 weeks from your initial enquiry to our engineer coming to the site, however if your project is time sensitive and you need us sooner be sure to let us know and we will do all we can to meet your needs.

The systems we install

We support the full range of Inert products, which reduce the ambient oxygen level in the enclosures down to below the level required for a fire to combust, as well as a full range of chemical and natural gases.

Novec 1230 is designed for the protection of commercial and industrial facilities. It belongs to a family of chemicals called halocarbons and includes fluoroketones. This system extinguishes fires quickly by removing heat and disturbing the spread of fire. Less storage space is required as it is stored as a liquid and discharged as a gas.

IG55, otherwise known as Argonite, is an Insert Gas Fire suppressions system that is a mixture made of 50% Argon and 50% Nitrogen. It is non-conducting, odourless, colourless, and flavourless. It is non-corrosive and can be used at normal temperatures. It is stored in high pressure cylinders in the form of compressed gas.

IG541, otherwise known as Inergen, is an Insert Gas Fire suppressions system that is a blend of naturally occurring gases made up of 42% Nitrogen, 50% Argon and 8% Carbon Dioxide. It does not damage the earth’s ozone layer, is no risk to people, and will limit damage to equipment. The extinguishing agent is stored and released as a gas therefore allowing a clear and safe exit from the premises.

FM-200 is a clean agent fire suppression system which is waterless, non-toxic, and is safe to use in occupied spaces where people work.

We also work with a range of Water Mist systems. These systems are ideal for high heat output hazards especially in remote locations where traditional systems may not reach such as back up generators. The watermist system can be offered as a standalone system compromising stored water cylinders and nitrogen cylinders as the propellant.

The Water Mist system incorporates fine droplets of spray, which is versatile and highly efficient, using less water consumption than a traditional sprinkler system. These systems are also ideal for use in heritage buildings, atriums, tunnels, and data centres.

We can help deliver fire suppression for any situation, whether it be a busy kitchen, an integral server room, or even a hospital or school.

We work for the trade on a white label basis, so all of our work will be under your business
